Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon Has Begun!

As I mentioned in this post, I can't wait to participate in my first blogger read-a-thon! I picked a good one to start with, since I love holiday themed books. They are not usually known to be too heavy or emotionally demanding, but that is just what I like during this hectic time of year.

Here are the books I have lined up to read. As you can see, I tend to go overboard on the holiday books, so I'm probably going to have plenty to still keep me busy after the read-a-thon is over 🙂

Just got it today. It's super short, so should be a quick read. I've heard of other books by the author (Michele Gorman), but have not read any yet. This should be a good way to check out her style without investing a few hundred pages 🙂

You're welcome Kristy. I find it's nice to take a break with holiday books during the hectic season, since they are usually not very emotionally draining to read.

Great selection! I just discovered the Jenny Hale book yesterday and added it to my list. I'm super excited about My True Love Gave to Me...I'm just waiting (impatiently) for my library's copy to come in. Good luck with your goals, and happy reading! 🙂

Thank you. I purchased a copy of My True Love Gave to Me because I'm attending a book signing event next week with Stephanie Perkins and David Levithan (two of the contributors to this collection of stories). Super excited to get it signed!

It's amazing how many there are once you look around for them. I like them because not only do they get me in the mood for the season, they are usually short, sweet stories that don't drain you emotionally 🙂 You'll have to join us next year!

Last year I read Christmas Bliss from Mary Kay Andrews, and I really enjoyed it. Blue Christmas is about the same characters, although it was actually written before the one I read.

Fab choices! I really want to read My True Love Gave to Me as it has so many great authors. Winter Street is on my wish list too. Enjoy your books, you made a great choice for your first readathon as this is one of my favourites of the year 🙂

I'm very excited to be going to an author event Monday evening with Stephanie Perkins and David Levithan about My True Love Gave to Me! Winter Street was very good, but it was rather open ended, so I think we will have a sequel next year.
